Sanusi Bature, spokesperson to the Kano State governor, has dismissed criticism from former Kano governor and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, over recent decisions taken by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, insisting that it is too early to judge the administration\u2019s actions.<\/p>\n<\/header>\n

Speaking during an interview on Trust TV, Bature defended the governor while reacting to comments attributed to Kwankwaso, who reportedly expressed concern that the current administration may have taken the wrong direction on certain political and governance matters in the state.<\/p>\n

According to the governor\u2019s spokesperson, the administration remains focused on delivering its campaign promises to the people of Kano State, despite ongoing political disagreements within the NNPP and growing tensions among supporters of the Kwankwasiyya movement.<\/p>\n

Bature maintained that governance requires patience and adequate time before conclusions can be drawn about the success or failure of policies being implemented by the current administration.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to say that his Excellency has taken a wrong decision, I think the time is so immature to make that assertion,\u201d Bature said during the interview.<\/p>\n

He argued that the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf is still in the process of consolidating its policies across key sectors, including education, infrastructure, healthcare, and social development. He added that many of the decisions being questioned are part of broader reforms aimed at repositioning Kano State for long-term growth.<\/p>\n

Bature further stressed that political criticism within the same political family should be expressed with caution, especially when the administration being assessed is still in its early stages of implementation. He noted that early judgments often fail to capture the full impact of governance decisions that require time to yield visible results.<\/p>\n

He also emphasized that the governor remains committed to inclusiveness and continuity in governance, while ensuring that all stakeholders in the NNPP structure are carried along in the decision-making process. According to him, internal political disagreements should not distract from the broader objective of delivering democratic dividends to the people of Kano State.<\/p>\n
