According to a report published by Daily Post on Monday, May 18, 2026, stated that the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has reacted strongly to remarks allegedly made by his political mentor and former Kano governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, who reportedly referred to him as a “small boy.”

According to the report, Governor Yusuf voiced his displeasure and cautioned the former governor against making repeated public statements aimed at him. He emphasized that respect should go both ways and hinted that he could respond openly if the criticisms continue.

In a viral video currently making rounds online, Yusuf was heard saying:

“Tell them they are talking too much. Enough is enough. If they refuse to stop, I will speak out, and it will smell like hell.”

The governor also condemned what he described as disrespectful comments allegedly coming from Kwankwaso. He questioned why an older man would repeatedly describe another elderly man as a “boy.”

He said:

“I don’t understand why someone who is 69 years old would keep calling a 63-year-old man a boy. That is unacceptable.”
