The man at the centre of one of South Africa’s most disturbing murder-for-insurance cases has reacted to Rosemary Ndlovu’s conviction, describing the verdict as the start of a long-awaited new phase in his life.
Justice Mudau, former husband of Nomsa Mudau, reflected on the shocking moment he discovered that his then-wife had allegedly plotted with former police officer Rosemary Ndlovu to have him killed for insurance money. He said the revelation was so shocking that it was initially difficult to accept.
“It was hard to believe,” he said, expressing the emotional weight of learning that someone he once trusted had allegedly been involved in a plan driven by financial gain to end his life.
Nomsa Mudau was allegedly linked with Rosemary Ndlovu, a former Limpopo police officer accused of orchestrating a series of killings of relatives and associates for insurance payouts. The alleged plot targeting Justice Mudau formed part of a broader case that drew widespread public attention in South Africa.
